In June 2025, Unitors was selected as one of just 10 startups to be recognised by the Expo City Dubai Changemakers Academy — a programme that identifies and supports the most promising young entrepreneurs in the UAE.
Expo City Dubai listed Unitors officially in their published selection with the description: "Connecting university student tutors with UAE families."
The announcement was covered by the UAE Media Office (Government of Dubai), Expo City Dubai's official media centre, and the Emirates News Agency (WAM) — three of the most authoritative voices in the region.
What is the Changemakers Academy?
The Expo City Dubai Changemakers Academy is an entrepreneurship programme that identifies aspiring UAE-based founders working on businesses with genuine impact. It provides selected startups with a bootcamp experience delivered by Lumi — an AI-enabled platform that takes participants through design-thinking quests to enhance their critical skills, along with mentorship and access to Expo City Dubai's network of partners and investors.
The final selection of 10 startups spanned a wide range of sectors: Unitors (education), SpacePoint, Ember, Vantage, Relpha, a Biodegradable Bacterial Cellulose Wound Patch project, a Mangrove Ecosystem Monitoring initiative, the Sea Thrive Reef Moor Project, a Smart Rainwater Management Emergency & Response System (SRMERS), and Exhaura. Being selected in this cohort is a meaningful signal of recognised impact.
Being selected from a competitive pool of applicants and recognised at the official government level means a great deal — it's the kind of validation that takes years to earn.

Since launching, we've helped over 100 families across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the wider GCC find the right private tutor. We've delivered more than 8,000 lessons, maintained a 4.9/5 Google rating, and expanded our online tutoring service to students in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.
