Why choose one-to-one IELTS tutoring with Unitors
Speaking Practice With a Live Tutor

Our tutors hold degrees from Imperial College London, UCL, NYU Abu Dhabi and Khalifa University. Every applicant is interviewed and background-checked, and only 1 in 8 is accepted.
MoHRE & MoE Licensed
Every tutor holds a UAE Private Teacher Work Permit, jointly issued by MoHRE and the Ministry of Education (MoE), and is approved to teach legally across the UAE in person and online.
Matched Within 24 Hours
Submit the request form and our academic team hand-picks your IELTS tutor within 24 hours. If the first tutor is not the right fit, the rematch is free.
Written Feedback on Every Task
Writing Task 1 and Task 2 are marked against the four published criteria, so you know whether the gap is Task Response, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource or Grammatical Range and Accuracy.
Fits Around Work and School
Sessions run 7 days a week from 7:00am to 10:00pm, at home in Dubai and Abu Dhabi or online across the UAE and GCC. Monthly plans, no long-term contract.
What IELTS preparation with Unitors covers
IELTS tests four components — Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking — and reports a band from 1 to 9 for each. Your tutor starts with a diagnostic to find which component is holding your overall band down, then works on that first.

IELTS Academic or General Training?
Take IELTS Academic for university admission and professional registration. Take IELTS General Training for migration, work and some visa routes. Listening and Speaking are the same in both; Reading and Writing Task 1 are not — Academic Writing Task 1 describes a graph, chart, map or process, while General Training Writing Task 1 is a letter. Your tutor prepares you for the version your university or regulator actually asks for.
Band scores, explained plainly
Each component is scored from 1 to 9, and your overall band is the average of the four, rounded to the nearest half band. Most UK, Australian and Canadian universities ask for an overall 6.0 to 7.0 with a per-component minimum of 6.0 or 6.5, and competitive courses can ask for 7.0 or more. Because an overall 6.5 can hide a 5.5 in one component, we target the weakest component rather than the average.

IELTS tutoring in Dubai — FAQs
How much does an IELTS tutor cost in Dubai?
One-to-one IELTS tutoring with Unitors starts from AED 799 per month for online sessions (8 sessions) and AED 1,599 per month for home tutoring in Dubai (4 sessions of 2 hours). All plans are monthly with no long-term contract, and the introductory consultation is free.
What is the difference between IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training?
IELTS Academic is for university admission and professional registration, while IELTS General Training is for migration, work and some visa routes. The Listening and Speaking sections are identical in both versions; the Reading passages and Writing Task 1 differ — Academic Reading uses academic texts and Academic Writing Task 1 asks you to describe a graph, chart, map or process, whereas General Training Reading uses everyday workplace and social texts and Writing Task 1 asks for a letter.
What IELTS band score do I need for university?
Most UK, Australian and Canadian universities ask for an overall IELTS band between 6.0 and 7.0, often with a minimum of 6.0 or 6.5 in each of the four components, and competitive or postgraduate courses can ask for 7.0 or higher. Because requirements are set by each university and each course, always confirm the exact overall band and per-component minimum on the course page before you book a test date.
How are IELTS band scores calculated?
IELTS reports a band from 1 to 9 for each of the four components — Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking — and the overall band is the average of those four scores, rounded to the nearest whole or half band. Listening and Reading are marked out of 40 raw questions and converted to a band, while Writing and Speaking are marked by examiners against four published criteria each, so an overall 6.5 can hide a 5.5 in one component, which is why per-component minimums matter.
Is one-to-one IELTS tutoring better than a group class for Speaking?
One-to-one tutoring gives you far more Speaking time than a group class, because every minute of the session is your own turn rather than one share of a room. Unitors runs one-to-one sessions only, so an IELTS student can work through Part 1 interview questions, a Part 2 long turn and Part 3 discussion with a live tutor responding in real time and correcting fluency, pronunciation and grammar as they speak.
How quickly can I start IELTS preparation in Dubai?
Unitors matches you with a tutor within 24 hours of submitting the request form at unitors.com/request-a-tutor, and sessions run seven days a week from 7:00am to 10:00pm, so most students start within a few days of getting in touch. If the first tutor is not the right fit, the rematch is free.
Are there IELTS classes near me in Dubai or Abu Dhabi?
Unitors provides in-person IELTS tutoring at home across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and live online IELTS tutoring anywhere in the UAE and the wider GCC. Online sessions use video call with a shared digital whiteboard, which works well for Writing feedback and Speaking practice.
How are Unitors IELTS tutors selected?
Every Unitors tutor is interviewed, background-checked and vetted before joining, and only 1 in 8 applicants is accepted. Tutors hold degrees from universities including Imperial College London, UCL, NYU Abu Dhabi and Khalifa University, and each one holds a UAE Private Teacher Work Permit jointly issued by MoHRE and the Ministry of Education.
